Welcome to Marion C. Jensen's official website
My novels are linked but are not a series because each one can stand alone. All are set on Vancouver Island and the West Coast of Canada. The people in them all have an interest in their environment. They are also linked by the fact that they and their families all volunteered in the early 1980s to run a cooperative preschool in Victoria, British Columbia. By volunteering in the preschool, they learned about themselves and their children and also learned about how to govern an organization and how a group of volunteers can achieve great things, or not. The same people appear in major and minor roles in the books. All lead separate lives though some are lifelong friends and each, as in real life, has only a slight knowledge of the private struggles and triumphs of the others.
The novels can be read separately, but if you want to read them in chronological sequence begin with Happy Families, then Desolation Sound, then an as yet untitled novel about a family of auctioneers, and finally a novel yet to be written about the former president of the preschool.
Happy reading!

About
Marion C. Jensen
Marion C. Jensen lives on Vancouver Island with her husband and dog. She has boated in Desolation Sound and has holidayed on the Gulf Islands and in Strathcona Park. She loves the wild beauty of both of these parts of British Columbia. She also enjoys domestic pursuits like gardening and playing with her grandchildren, and, of course, reading. She has lived in Victoria for forty-five years, a transplant from Ontario. Numerous rainy winters have not dampened her appreciation of the west coast's wonderful mild climate and year-round outdoor activities.
